Most parents don't come in with a diagnosis. They come in with a situation.
Big feelings over small things
Hitting, biting, or throwing
Won't go to school, or falls apart at drop-off
Worried all the time
Worry that shows up in the body: stomachaches, bathroom accidents, not eating
Two homes, and hard transition days
Sent home from preschool or TK
Shuts down, then explodes
Adoption, foster care, or a big loss
Bedtime fears that take over the night
If what's happening at your house isn't on this list, bring it anyway.
We talk through what's going on, answer your questions, and tell you honestly whether we're a fit.
Before your child comes in, you meet with your child's therapist on your own to go through the whole story and set goals together. A deposit holds the appointment.
Same day, same time, same therapist, every week. Your child picks what to play, and their therapist follows and pays close attention to what the play is saying. This is play therapy for feelings and behavior, not occupational or speech therapy.
By video, without your child. Your child's therapist shares what they're seeing, asks how things are going at home, and coaches you on what to try next. It's a standing session, billed at the regular session rate, and every family has one.
Progress isn't a straight line. Some weeks look harder before they look better. We'll tell you what we're seeing along the way.
We'd rather you know now than find out on the call.

Associate Therapist
Weekly therapy is a real commitment of time and money. We say so up front because it only works when a family can keep coming.
We don't fix children. We help families understand them, and that takes you too.
Your child comes weekly: same day, same time, same therapist.
Every four weeks you meet with your child's therapist for parent coaching, without your child, at the session rate.
Between sessions you try small things at home. Not homework. Adjustments.
If you want your child fixed without being part of it, we're not the right fit, and we'll say so on the first call.
Fifteen minutes with me, Hannah. You tell me what's happening. I'll ask a few questions, answer yours, and tell you honestly whether we're the right fit. If we're not, I'll try to point you somewhere that is. There's a question about cost on the booking form so nobody is surprised. And if this week turns out calmer by the time we talk, keep the call anyway. The pattern is still worth understanding.

We ask a few questions, explain how we work, and answer yours. No evaluation, no paperwork.
Which therapist fits your child's age, what's going on, and your schedule. We'll tell you who we think is the right match (usually one of our other therapists, each trained and supervised by Hannah) and why, and you can request anyone.
There's no pressure to decide on the call. If you'd like to move forward, we can book your intake while we're on the phone and take a non-refundable deposit to hold it. The intake is just for parents; your child doesn't come to that one.
Don't see a time that works? Email hello@yourtherapynook.com with a few times that suit you and we'll make one work. Booking at night or on a weekend? Just pick the first weekday time.

Most parents ask that. If it's worrying you, it's worth a conversation. The first call is free, and part of it is helping you figure out whether therapy makes sense right now.
No. We're private pay only, $200 to $270 a session depending on the therapist. We do provide superbills, so if your plan has out-of-network benefits you can submit one for reimbursement.
Your child's weekly session is just your child and their therapist. Every four weeks you have parent coaching with that therapist by video, without your child. Parent coaching isn't optional. It's how what happens in the playroom makes it home.
Yes. Two homes is one of the most common reasons families come to us. We don't do custody evaluations or write letters for court. We're your child's therapist, and that's the whole role. If there's an active court case, we'll talk on the first call about whether we're the right fit.
Child sessions are in person only. Play therapy needs the room. Parent coaching is by video.
It depends on your child and what's going on. Some families come for a few months. Many stay longer. We talk about it at every parent coaching session, not just at the start.
